W Tree, Victoria : ウィキペディア英語版 | W Tree, Victoria
W Tree is a small town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Gelantipy Road, in the Shire of East Gippsland near the Snowy River. The valley is located on Gunnai/Kŭrnai land. Despite its remote location in Gippsland's high country, W-Tree is home to two ecovillages, one Tibetan Buddhist centre, and a number of different ecosensitive businesses, among them the headquarters for WWOOF Australia. ==History== Both W Tree and nearby Gillingal Post Offices opened around 1902. Gillingal closed in 1938; W Tree was reduced to a telegraph office in 1921 and closed in 1969. Many people think that W Tree has only been settled since the mid-1970s, when Fred Koch had an idea of forming a community of like-minded people and bought 800ha of land.
